Our guides prefer to run the tours more off the beaten path. As our
group size tends to be smaller, we can leave the bigger groups behind
and navigate through the areas which might be a bit more demanding,
but also more rewarding!
Qualified guides
Our guides have spent countless hours leading the groups on multiple
glaciers in Iceland. And guess what they do on their time off? – They search for new features on the ice or have some fun lowering each
other down into the depths of the glacier to ice climb out. Talking more
seriously though- of course they don´t only know how to have fun, but
are trained to be able to assess the safety of different areas on the
glaciers and perform a smooth crevasse rescue.

Our company and values
We – Ice Hunters – are a small company run by a group of friends that focus mainly on glacier hikes for small groups. After guiding for different companies few years, 2022 felt like a good time to create something of our own. For us, glaciers are fascinating and ever-changing playgrounds that have something new to explore each month. Now we have the chance to share our passion and knowledge with our own customers by taking them safely to the areas we find fun and unforgettable.

The best glacier hike you can ask for
It was a breathtaking experience to be on Solheimajokull guided by Simion. He is a very experienced and knowledgeable guide, who cares a lot about all the members of the team and does everything to make it fun according to the demands of the group. As we asked for a sporty hike up to the glacier, he showed us how to iceclimb, took us far up to see the snow line, provided information about all the beautiful features of the glacier and was a great story teller. He has a professional gear to lend and together with the initial training it feels so smooth and cool to be up there equipped as a pro :DWhat is important is that Simion made us feel safe on the glacier while keeping it fun when going down the crevasses, climbing up or just hiking around. I don't exaggerate when I say that it was the best experience of my 4months stay in Iceland and I will never forget that beautiful sunny day we had up there. So grateful for being there with Simion.
